New This Week!


	GSO Virtual / MIT European Career Fair 2008. The German Scholars Organization (GSO) is calling for Résumés/CVs from graduate students, postdoctoral scholars and young professionals of all academic backgrounds and nationalities interested in exploring employment opportunities with research-oriented firms in Europe. In cooperation and conjunction with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) European Career Fair (Cambridge, MA – 1st through 4th of February 2008), the GSO will host its 2nd Virtual Career and Internship Fair for all interested but unable to attend the Cambridge fair. Applicant Résumés / CVs submitted to the GSO-MIT Virtual Fair will be made available by the GSO to participating European firms of the MIT fair, whereby the companies will then contact their preferred candidates. Deadline is December 15, 2007.

	Case Interview Workshop Presented by Gartner Consulting. Gartner will be here on Thursday, November 29, for a Case Interview Workshop. The event will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Room 161. Please RSVP via eRecruiting, unless you are a Working Professional student, in which case you should RSVP directly back to Career Services via email. 	San Ramon BioBusiness Club Speaker Event. James Garvin, President of the San Ramon BioBusiness Club, announces the first BioBusiness Speaker Series Event, taking place on Friday, November 30th, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the San Ramon Valley Conference Center, Room F208. The speaker will be Michael J. Eck, Founder & CEO of AcroMetrix, a venture backed biotechnology company focused on improving and accelerating molecular technologies to diagnose diseases. Mike has extensive experience in the medical diagnostic field, working as an executive for Abbott Diagnostics and Chiron. Mike will be presenting on his experience starting a medical diagnostic company from the concept, to writing the business plan, seeking venture capital and executing his plan to create a multi-million dollar profitable company. This event will have a maximum capacity of 30 attendees, will require an RSVP to attend, and will be open exclusively to the BBC members until November 15th, after which the invitation will be opened up to other students from Davis, Sacramento and San Ramon campuses.
