New This Week!


	California Redevelopment Association - William A. Carlson Fellowship Program. This association is now accepting applications for the William A. Carlson Fellowship Program for 2008. The fellowship program provides California college students pursuing a graduate degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Planning, Real Estate, Urban Studies, or a related field the opportunity to attend the California Redevelopment Association’s Annual Conference, March 26-28, 2008. The Fellowship Program offers students an opportunity to learn about the field of redevelopment as a career opportunity in the public sector. The deadline for submitting applications is December 14, 2007.

	Winter Quarter Consulting Center Projects. The GSM Consulting Center has been established to facilitate the offering of high quality field study experiences to all GSM students who have completed (or nearly completed) the core courses. Each field study will be available to a team of students from the Day and Working Professional Programs. Students may enroll in a 3-unit class for the Winter Quarter after they have been approved as a team for a particular field study. If you are interested in working on a student team for this Winter Quarter and are in good academic standing, please review this winter's three projects at http://students.gsm.ucdavis.edu/consulting/ and then send an email to Kathy Klenzendorf at krklenzendorf@ucdavis.edu along with a copy of your current resume, a brief statement as to why you want to work on the project and what you think you can contribute to the team. Please also note which project(s) you're interested in, in ranked order, and enter 'Consulting Center' into the subject line. All resumes and statements will be considered as they are received and the selection of teams will start immediately! Teams will be assigned no longer than December 11.

	CFA Designations. Every year we see interest in the CFA designations among our students. This organization has very stringent guidelines on the proper use of their designation on resumes. Please note the following information regarding improper and proper references (note you would not use personal pronouns on a resume).

	GSO Virtual / MIT European Career Fair 2008. The German Scholars Organization (GSO) is calling for Résumés from graduate students, postdoctoral scholars and young professionals of all academic backgrounds and nationalities interested in exploring employment opportunities with research-oriented firms in Europe. In cooperation and conjunction with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and European Career Fair (Cambridge, MA –February 1-4 2008), the GSO will host its 2nd Virtual Career and Internship Fair for all interested students. Applicant Résumés submitted to the GSO-MIT Virtual Fair will be made available by the GSO to participating European firms of the MIT fair, where the companies will then contact their preferred candidates. Deadline is December 15, 2007.
