Peer-to-Pier Thursday, March 6 - Last Chance to Register! We’re almost at capacity which is 325 attendees- there are only 10 spots left! The GSM will host its 5th Annual Peer-to-Pier networking event in San Francisco on Thursday, March 6, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Waterfront Restaurant. This year's theme is "Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Prosperity"; Executives in high-tech, retail, financial services, health care and consulting will share how they are integrating environmental, social and governance concerns into their strategic thinking and daily operations. 2008 Scholarship Opportunity: The Financial Women's Association of San Francisco. FWASF Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for San Francisco Bay Area women studying in the areas of finance or financial services. Scholarship recipients have an opportunity to meet potential mentors and network at professional development and networking events. Women students at the San Ramon Campus only may apply by March 17, 2008.

2nd Annual Maloof Sports and Entertainment Career Fair. If you want to learn more about jobs in the NBA and see a Sac Kings game all for the price of $40, this is your chance! This will be held Wednesday, March 26 from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. at Arco Arena. Please keep in mind that internships pay less than $6.00 per hour or you can apply it towards course credit (some are course credit only). The career positions do not require much more than a college degree and 1 to 6 years of experience at the most. Many of the jobs are sales and require only 2 to 3 years of experience, some are a little higher and want previous NBA jobs. The jobs posted on line are for the teams across the US.

	Consulting Center Projects for Spring Quarter. Consulting Center Projects for Spring have been selected. Students in good academic standing who are interested in working on a student team for one of the projects are encouraged to review the three projects at http://students.gsm.ucdavis.edu/consulting/ and then email Kathy Klenzendorf at krklenzendorf@ucdavis.edu along with a copy of your current resume; a brief statement as to why you want to work on the project and what/how you think you can contribute to the team; and a note of which project(s), in ranked order, you are interested in. Please enter "Consulting Center" into the subject line. All resumes and statements will be considered as they are received and selection of teams will start immediately! Tuesday, March 11, is the deadline for applications and Teams will be assigned no later than Tuesday, March 18.

	Summer Internships at PPIC. The Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) is a private, nonprofit, research organization, conducting nonpartisan policy research with an active outreach program. PPIC aims to inform and improve public policy through high-quality, independent, nonpartisan research and analysis of public policy issues affecting California. PPIC has several summer internship opportunities available, as detailed in the descriptions on its website at http://www.ppic.org/main/position.asp?i=1201. These internships are particularly appropriate for current students in graduate programs in economics, public administration, public policy, and related disciplines. Application deadline is March 14, 2008.

	2008 West Coast Venture Capital Conference. March 10-11 at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa. The conference will bring together all the critical elements of a thriving venture economy — entrepreneurs, angel investors, business and technology executives, venture capitalists and a complete range of critical professional services providers — to the Monterey Bay region.
