Winter 2010

REGISTRATION BEGINS
Monday, November 2, 6:00 a.m.

WAIT LIST BEGINS
Monday, November 30, 6:00 a.m.

UNIT TOTAL INCREASES
Monday, November 30, 2:00 p.m.

PAYMENT DEADLINE

REGISTRATION FREEZE

December 29-30, system reopens 12/31


ALL STUDENTS

November 2 to November 29:
Physical Education courses are only open to undergraduates.

November 30 - UNIT TOTAL increases, WAIT LIST opens

Unit total increases to 16 units.
You may add Physical Education courses.

You are on the wait list if you see a number (001, 002, etc.)  This number indicates your place on the wait list.  If you see 000 instead, you are NOT on the wait list. 

You can view where you are on the wait list after it opens in the Student Detailed Schedule (on SISWEB); position #1 means first on the wait list.  Once wait listed, students are moved from the wait list into available seats each night after registration closes.  You do not receive a notice once you are added.  Check SISWEB periodically for your most current enrollment status.

The professor cannot change your place on the wait list.

December 1 - CROSS REGISTRATION opens. 
You may request enrollment in Sacramento or Bay Area courses if there is space available and you follow the cross registration instructions.

December 10
Cross Registration closes.

Week of December 21
Final grades available for previous quarter.

December 28
Last day to pay fees without the $150 Late Registration Fee.

Financial aid funding will post to your student account prior to fees being due.  (See provided link for actual date.)

December 29 - 30
Registration freeze, no access to SISWEB.

December 31
Registration system opens for changes & updates.

January  4

Financial Aid funds available through direct deposit.
Instruction begins. For all other dates, check the Academic Calendar.

January 15
Last day to DROP
Last day to pay fees with the $150 Late Registration Fee.
Any student with an outstanding balance at the Cashier's Office risk being dropped from classes for the quarter.

January 20

Last day to ADD
Last day for wait lists

February 25
June candidacy forms due.  (We will begin accepting forms 2/4/2010.)

ADDITIONAL REGISTRATION INFORMATION

SISWEB AVAILABLITY
Monday - Friday 6:00 a.m. to midnight
Saturday, Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Verify your enrollment using SISWEB, not SmartSite.  These sites provide different functionalities.  SISWEB is the site to verify enrollment and to view final grades when they are posted at the end of each quarter.


INDEPENDENT STUDY (VARIABLE UNIT COURSES)

These courses are subject to faculty sponsorship and graduate advisor approval PRIOR to the first day of the quarter.

COURSE REGISTRATION CHANGES
When you change courses after initial enrollment or add an additional course, it takes 24 hours for the information to be updated in SmartSite.  The change is not reflected immediately.

MBA CONSULTING CENTER PROJECTS
If you are interested in a Consulting Center project for this quarter, see the MBA Consulting Center information website.  Projects for the upcoming quarter are generally available about 3 weeks prior to the start of the quarter.  The GSM Register  will enroll you and confirm via email if you are selected to a team.

GRADE CHANGE TIMELINE
If a grade change is submitted on your behalf, it is a manual process that generally takes 4 to 5 weeks before your see the change reflected electronically.

INTERNATIONAL STUDY TRIP DESTINATIONS
Proposed:
Winter 2010 (Day & Sacramento course) - Turkey
Summer 2010 (Bay Area course) - Central Eastern Europe (Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland)
Winter 2011 (Day & Sacramento course - Egypt and one other Middle Eastern country

ADDITIONAL GENERAL INFORMATION

STUDENT BILLS
Your account balance is generated after you enroll in courses.  Students can view and pay account balances at mybill.ucdavis.edu.  You are responsible for paying all fees and other debts by the posted deadlines.  No bills are mailed to students.

HOLIDAYS
UC Davis observes these administrative holidays - December 24 - January 4, January 18, February 15.
